Max is back in the co-host chair for our post Comic-Con episode and we’re keeping it quick this week and only reviewing the books—we’ve saved the comic book conversation for a super-sized Comic Con News episode. However, we do take a few minutes to discuss the recently leaked Avengers teaser and the first few preview pages of Justice League #1.

Cape Town Comic Discussion
00:09:29 Daredevil #1: There is nothing but love for Mark Waid, Paolo Rivera and Marco Martin’s triumphant take on the Man Without Fear.
00:16:47 Ultimate Fallout #2: Brian Michael Bendis is joined by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer as they begin to plant the seeds of the Ultimate U and we like what they’re giving us.
00:20:46 Avengelyne #1: This book is a winner! Unfortunately the prize is titled “Worst of the Week.”
00:24:21 Flashpoint: Wonder Woman and the Furies #2: We’re disappointed with the rushed feel of the artwork.
00:27:59 Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons #2: J.T. Krul’s story stumbles a bit in this second outing, but the art stumbles more.
00:30:29 X-Men #15: The close of “First to Last” is solid, if a little anticlimactic.
00:34:10 Uncanny X-Men #541: We’re all for this Fear Itself crossover.
00:37:59 Fear Itself: FF #1: This issue carries on the tradition of (mostly) unsatisfying Fear Itself minis and one-shots.
00:42:13 Avengers #15: Chris Bachalo’s work is always welcome on the Avengers.
00:45:15 Invincible Iron Man #506: This is a #@%$! good book!
